Formed Wire

ACA has introduced an extensive line of Formed Wire Products. Depending on the application, these products provide protection from bending, compression, and abrasion; guying of poles in the construction of power and communication lines; or an aerial support for transmission and distribution lines where taping or strapping is not required during installation.

  Armor Rods
Armor rods are designed to protect the conductor by reducing bending, compression, and abrasion at the support point. Protection against flashover damage is also provided. Armor rods are recommended as protection for spans greater than 300 ft. (91m).

  Guy Dead Ends
Guy Dead Ends are designed for guying of poles in the construction of power and communication lines. Guy dead ends are designed for use with standard guy strands of one-inch diameter or less.  Manufactured from similar wire, the dead ends can be applied to galvanized steel or Alumoweld® guy wire.

  Hinged Suspension Units
The Hinged Armor Wire Suspension Unit (HAWS™) is designed to reduce the static and dynamic stress at the support point of transmission and distribution lines. This allows the conductor to better withstand the effects of aeolian vibration and wind-induced oscillation. The HAWS unit also helps protect the conductor against flashover in the support area.

  HIBUS™ Series
ACA’s HIBUS (Hinged Bushing) clamps are a versatile, cost-effective choice when you need to reduce static and dynamic stress at the attachment point on transmission conductors. Rated up to 250°C hi-temp applications, HIBUS clamps are available in both suspension and trunnion configurations.

  Line Guards
Line guards are designed to protect the conductor by reducing bending, compression, and abrasion at the support point, particularly where hand-ties are used. Line guards are recommended as protection for spans of less than 300 ft. (91m). Manufactured from aluminum alloy, they are designed for use with ACSR, AAC, AAAC, and ACAR conductors.
